Aaron and I first met back in April 2013 in Andrew’s Lane Theatre at gay night, which was held every Friday evening called WAR! I started chatting to Aaron’s best friend, trying to get as much information about Aaron as I could. I found out his name, and when I went home that night, I added him on social media (Facebook). Aaron accepted my friend request, and, from then on, we were chatting for a few weeks.
I asked Aaron out on a date for the first time, and Aaron said yes. We went to my local leisure plex in Tallaght to go bowling. Aaron had no clue how to bowl, and he even set off the alarm. After bowling we went for a few quiet drinks, and we exchanged numbers. From that day on we became a couple.
We had been dating for three years, and then on the night of my 21st birthday party, which was also Aaron’s birthday, I proposed to Aaron, and he said yes! As time went on, Aaron said that he would love to get married in a castle, and he did not want a long engagement. We spent a lot of time looking at magazines and looked online at various wedding websites for wedding venues (castles). The nearest thing we could find to a castle that suited our needs was the Celbridge Manor Hotel. We got in contact with the events manger, Caroline Walsh, and she arranged a date for us to meet and see the venue.
The moment we got to the Celbridge Manor Hotel we fell in love with the grounds before we even entered the hotel.
When we got into the hotel Caroline was waiting for us at reception. She welcomed us with a big warm welcoming smile and a handshake. Caroline showed us around the hotel and what they had to offer for weddings. She also gave us wedding brochures and went through the different packages they had on offer. Caroline also suggested that we should attend the next wedding showcase in the Celbridge Manor Hotel.
We didn’t need to. As Aaron and I walked out of the Celbridge Manor Hotel and looked at each other, although this was the only venue we had viewed, we both said this is the one.
We booked our wedding in the Celbridge Manor Hotel for the 15th June 2019. Caroline was so helpful in the lead up to our wedding day by emailing, calling and texting us each week to make sure we were not stressing, or just to let us know she was there if we needed anything. She was the best!
We decided for our wedding we would have eight groomsmaids and four groomsmen, three flower girls and one page boy. We had invited over 170 guests, and the staff at the Celbridge Manor Hotel were just amazing. they made both Aaron and I, and all our guests, feel like royalty. Throughout and after the wedding, all our guests commented on how fabulous the food was. We also had a second day and had BBQ food, which the guests also thoroughly enjoyed and commented on for weeks after.
We had the most amazing day of our lives for our wedding, and it was all down to the Celbridge Manor Hotel, staff and suppliers.
After our fantastic wedding we then went on our honeymoon on the 18th of June 2019. We flew to Hawaii, and we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was outstanding, and we did not want to come home. We have already booked Hawaii again for our first-year anniversary.
Our love story is never ending and never will!
